Mr. Seif Abdalla Juma is a seasoned aviation and public sector expert with nearly 17 years of experience leading strategic transformation in Zanzibar’s aviation industry. As the Director General of the Zanzibar Airports Authority (ZAA), he has played a key role in modernizing airport infrastructure and positioning Zanzibar as a growing hub for air travel and tourism.
Under his leadership, ZAA has overseen the construction of Terminal One and Terminal Two, the development of a new business center, a fuel farm, and the installation of an advanced AGL approach lighting system. He is also driving the development of the new Pemba International Airport, an ambitious project that will boost regional connectivity and economic growth.
Mr. Seif previously served as Head of the Public-Private Partnership Desk at the Ministry of Finance, where he led critical economic reforms and helped attract private investment in national infrastructure projects. His strong background in economics, policy, and planning has allowed him to successfully bridge the gap between public administration and private sector collaboration.
ZAA has received significant recognition under his stewardship, including the ACI Award for Best Airport in Africa, a Food and Beverage Award, and RA3 certification for operational excellence underscoring his commitment to quality, safety, and innovation.
Mr. Seif holds a Master of Science in Economics and is widely respected for his expertise in aviation management, sustainability, and strategic project execution. He continues to focus on aligning the aviation sector with Zanzibar’s development goals by improving performance, enhancing customer service, and building resilient infrastructure.
