Liezl Gericke is Head of International at Virgin Atlantic, leading the airline’s commercial performance across Africa, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. She is responsible for setting the strategic direction and driving execution across these regions, with a strong focus on sustainable growth, market development and high-performing teams.

Liezl has played a key role in strengthening Virgin Atlantic’s presence across priority international markets, including the successful launch and development of routes such as Cape Town, Dubai, the Maldives, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Seoul and Phuket, as well as supporting broader network expansion initiatives across the region. Her leadership has contributed to sustained commercial performance and the continued growth of Virgin Atlantic’s international portfolio.

A passionate people leader, Liezl is deeply committed to building engaged, high-performing teams and fostering an inclusive culture. She is a qualified executive coach and an accredited Springboard facilitator, actively supporting the development of future female leaders within Virgin Atlantic and beyond.

Prior to joining Virgin Atlantic in 2012, Liezl spent 15 years in senior leadership roles at Flight Centre and STA Travel in South Africa, where she developed extensive expertise across the travel and tourism sector.
