Mr. Kephas Phiri is a seasoned commercial leader with over 22 years of experience spanning telecommunications, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, and aviation. As Director of Commercial Services at Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL), he drives the Corporation’s commercial strategy with a strong focus on growing non-aeronautical revenue and enhancing the airport business ecosystem.
He holds a Master of Business Administration from Cavendish University (Zambia & UK), a Professional MBA in Sports & Management Entities from Spain, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Zambia. He is currently pursuing an Executive Master’s in Real Estate Investment and PropTech, reflecting his continued commitment to innovation and strategic growth.
At ZACL, Mr. Phiri has been instrumental in unlocking value across airport assets, leading key initiatives such as the operationalisation of the KKIA hotel in partnership with Marriott, commissioning of the TotalEnergies fuel station, and advancing a USD 12.7 million fuel farm upgrade in collaboration with Total and Puma Energy. He is also spearheading the large-scale commercialisation of over 580 hectares of airport land and driving the optimisation of commercial spaces across all international airports.
A results-oriented strategist, Mr. Phiri brings a forward-looking approach to aviation commercialisation, positioning ZACL as a competitive, investor-ready, and customer-focused airport operator in the region.
