General Manager - Middle East and Africa.
Hussein is the General Manager at Embraer for the Middle East and Africa. Embraer is the largest Regional Jet manufacturer based in Brazil, with over 2000 jets flying around the world by 130 airlines in 70 countries. Before joining Embraer, Hussein was IATA’s Regional Vice President for Africa & Middle East based in Amman – Jordan where he spent over four years in that position. His responsibilities included working with airline Executives and Directors of Civil Aviation in the region to push for a more secure and safe industry through the implementation of the IATA safety standards. Promote the value aviation brings to the economies of the countries and the promotion of the liberalization of the industry. Prior to joining IATA, Hussein was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Jordanian Airlines for three years after spending over thirty year with the airline in senior roles, including Vice President Commercial and Services and Regional Director for the USA based in New York. Hussein holds a Master’s Degree in International Management and Marketing from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Arizona, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco, California, USA.
